This $6.8M design literally and figuratively bridges the north and south portions of Oklahoma City’s new Scissortail Park as described in the Core to Shore Master Plan, and connects the past with the future to travelers of I-40 (formerly Route 66). Inspired by Oklahoma’s state bird, the scissor-tailed flycatcher, the bridge is a 380-foot-long pedestrian bridge with a 197-foot-tall sculpture.
Skydance Bridge is also about connecting people to a place. Intended to be multi-directional, it is symbolic of the American crossroads as it marks the “X” where east meets west, and where the City’s core meets the Oklahoma River.
